September 10 - 13, 2026
New York Fashion Week powered by Art Hearts Fashion returned to New York from this September, bringing four days of runway presentations to the Angel Orensanz Foundation on Manhattan's Lower East Side. For its Spring/Summer 2027 program, the platform assembled a deliberately broad selection of designers whose work ranged from American streetwear and contemporary labels to couture, formalwear, and internationally influenced design.
What made the program particularly engaging was its breadth of visual and cultural perspectives. Each presentation brought a distinct identity to the runway, allowing the four-day schedule to move fluidly between different interpretations of fashion while giving every designer the space to express their own aesthetic.
Karl Kani provided one of the clearest examples of that breadth. His presentation connected the SS27 program to the history of American streetwear, bringing a distinctly different energy to a runway that would later accommodate highly elaborate couture and eveningwear.
The scale shifted considerably with Michael Cinco, whose SS27 presentation emphasized the craftsmanship and theatricality associated with his couture work. Large-scale silhouettes, extensive embellishment, intricate handwork, and highly constructed gowns created some of the program's most visually expansive moments.
Across the wider lineup, those different approaches continued to intersect. Tailoring appeared beside fluid silhouettes; streetwear shared the schedule with elaborate occasionwear; and designers working from different cultural backgrounds brought their own references, techniques, and interpretations to the same New York runway. The result was a program defined less by a particular trend than by the range of ideas represented within it.
The runway itself was only one part of the environment. The architecture of the Angel Orensanz Foundation gave the presentations an unusually distinctive setting, while Art Hearts Fashion's broader programming incorporated music, art, brand experiences, VIP activity, and opportunities for the fashion community to connect around the shows.
For SS27, Art Hearts Fashion once again demonstrated the value of creating a platform where those differences can exist side by side. Rather than presenting one definitive idea of what fashion should be, the showcase gave designers the space to bring their own identities, references, and ambitions to the runway, and allowed the audience to experience that range within a single four-day program.
